Ok so that whole "use this site more" thing didn't happen. Then again, i'm fairly certain no one is reading EVER. So that point is moot, and i'm a weirdo blogging to myself randomly.

Anyway. Happy 2011, me!

i finally found a new editor for WordPress that isn't crap. i came here to test it and i'm thrilled, so far. So, hooray for no more default TinyMCE. (Oddly enough, on the Joomla! platform, TinyMCE isn't so bad. On WordPress it's awful. No offense to the makers, but come on. Show ALL the code in HTML view. Hiding paragraph tags is just weird.)

That's about it. Maybe i'll make a birthday resolution to use this more? And maybe tell people about it so there's a point.

… and stores have been decorated for Christmas for weeks already here. Weeks. Every year it gets worse. Eventually i expect people to just keep the damn decorations up all year. Can you tell i’m not the biggest fan of Christmas? The entire holiday is nothing but stress for me. Figuring out whose house i/we will be going to, figuring out what to buy for people, figuring out what i can afford to buy for people, getting a tree, decorating the tree, taking the tree down… It’s all of the stress and none of the snow of an ideal Christmas.

Thanksgiving, on the other hand, is a holiday i can get behind. i love to cook. i love to entertain, despite the fact that it usually requires a lot of pre-dinner/party cleaning. Thanksgiving doesn’t call for trees or presents, though, and that makes things infinitely easier. (Plus, i like Thanksgiving food more since we don’t have Spanish food at Christmas anymore.)

More people need to pepper their hash browns like Dunkin Donuts does. Just sayin’. Those were excellent.

We’ve seen some movies recently! Saw 3D was surprisingly awesome. Ever since 4, they’ve been sort of blah, but the 7th installment was the best since 3. (i’m in the minority on this, i know, but i’m sad there won’t be anymore. Great movies or not, it was a fun little Halloween tradition that i’m going to miss.) We also saw Red recently, which was fantastic. i didn’t buy Bruce Willis as a retiree, though. He’s still too awesome. Either way, fun action movie with a great cast.  i just wish the teenage jackholes behind us hadn’t spent half the movie chatting with each other or on the phone.

That’s about it, before i go on a diatribe about how parents need to discipline their hellion children. Time for more researching!

That’s right, i did. And i haven’t. Sigh.

It’s not like there’s a ton going on, really.

We’ve still made no concrete plans on the wedding front, but we don’t wanna have it for at least a year anyway, so we’re alright.

My sleep schedule is still bass-ackwards, as usual. For some reason, my body insists i’m supposed to be up at 3:30am. i do not agree. This leads to problems, especially when i’ve run out of coffee. That REALLY makes it hard to get out of bed the next day.

Tomorrow brings Saw 7, and Saturday brings Pit Bull Awareness Day. Woot. These are both wonderful things.

And Netflix, in a word, rocks. We’re still on our first month free trial period, and we’ve already had 4 DVDs sent out, and watched a ton of stuff streaming via the Wii. i dunno why i didn’t hop on this earlier, it’s not like $9 a month is that hard to pony up.

So yeah. Get Netflix. And always keep coffee on hand.

i kept it mostly under wraps for awhile until all parents were told the news, and no date is set yet, but… Michael and i are getting married. The only “decisions” we’ve come to thus far is that we both want to get married when it isn’t unbearably hot out, and that we don’t want it to be a gigantic extravaganza with 200 guests. i can also say for sure that the wedding will NOT be outside. i’m not playing Russian roulette with Mother Nature, i’m allergic to things, and me being comfortable outside if it’s not 20 degrees out is ot at all likely.

i’m excited about all of this, even more so after telling my parents went so smoothly. i dunno why i was so nervous about telling them, but i was for some reason. In the end it turned out that i had no reason to be nervous. Whew!

That’s about it for now. i have a million things to do around here. Cooking dinner for five people when you have no dishwasher leads to a lot of dishes that pile up.
